KOCHI: In
protest against the government move to acquire land belonging to Puthuvype Fisheries Station, a campus of Fisheries University, for industrial purposes, the Fisheries Station Protection Samithi will organise legislative assembly march on July 10. The samithi asked the government to withdraw from the decision to take over 20 acres of land belonging to the fisheries station.
It alleged tat the government handed over the land to the Kerala State Electricity Board in violation of the assurance given by the government in the legislative assembly in this regard. As part of their plans to register protest against the move, the samithi will organise motor rallies on June 26 and 27. It will also stage a four day satyagraha at Goshree junction from June 31 to July 3.
